If a sales person called you on the telephone and suggested meeting so he or she could show you all the changes and all the “New Stuff” how would you respond? Just as I thought, “I'm not interested.” Yet how many times per day do we do that to our prospects or customers? First of all, most people hate change and I don't know about you, but I have enough “Stuff” in my life, I certainly don't want any more. However, if you can show me how you can solve my problems, I'm all ears.
Have you ever tape recorded yourself and then gone back and critiqued yourself? It is very revealing. You may think you sound great on the telephone, but the tape reveals everything. Try it sometime, you may enjoy it.
