Have you heard the saying, “The squeaky wheel gets the grease?” When I was growing up I remember the wheel on my bike would occasionally start to squeak, it was really easy to fix. Apply a little grease and presto, problem solved. The high pitched sound was gone.
The same principle does not apply in sales when trying to get your prospect’s attention. Have you ever been to a social gathering and there was one individual that was loud and obnoxious? How did it make you feel? You wanted to stay as far away from that person as possible, right?
The louder you scream the less your prospect or client will pay attention. They will ignore you. The best way to get your prospect or client’s attention is to stop sounding like every other salesperson. Show them you are different by creating solutions that eliminate their problems, solutions they have never even considered.
Happy prospecting!
