My favorite book of all time about sales is, How I Raised Myself From Failure To Success In Sales by Frank Bettger. I have talked about this book thousands of times. In my opinion, it is the bible for sales. It was written in 1949. You can still get a paperback copy of the book at Amazon. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did. I've read the book five times. Why? Because I am a slow learner? Nope. It has a wealth of information in it.
I know what you are thinking? If the book was written in 1949 how could it possible be relevant in the 21st century? The book is very relevant. Why? Because we all work with people. Human nature is one thing that has not changed since the beginning of the sales profession. In fact, I may even do a book study in future podcasts.
Here are a couple of my favorite quotes from the book.
“Selling is the easiest job in the world if you work it hard – but the hardest job in the world if you try and work it easy”.
“You can't collect your commission until you make the sale; You can't make the sale, 'til you write the order; You can't write the order, 'til you have an interview; And you can't have an interview 'til you make the call!”
Do you want to know the secret to success in sales? Contact as many of the right people as you can each week. Yes that's it. Go out and plant. Sales is really that simple.
I may do a series of podcasts in the future about How I Raised Myself From Failure To Success In Sales by Frank Bettger. Let me know what you think below. Would love to hear from you.
