One of the greatest examples in business history of a company that has never stopped prospecting is Apple. Apple was on the verge of bankruptcy in 1997. Apple was staring at a billion dollar loss. Steve Jobs came back to the company in which he co-founded and in an internal meeting on September 23, 1997 said, “We need to be really clear about what we want our customers to know about us.”
