The focus of today's podcast is communication tools that I use to connect, educate and engage with my community and target audience. This list may be different for you and the order in which you use them. I think what is important is to evaluate which tools are most effective for you.
- Telephone. Remember this, the purpose of the call is to keep the purpose of the call, the purpose of the call. Confused prospects or customers will not take action. Do you experience call reluctance? If so, here is a great book for you: Psychology of Sales Call Reluctance by Shannon Goodson & George Dudley
- Email. The best advice I can give you is SHUT IF OFF. All kidding aside, don't let email rule your day, unless that is your business. I check my email no more than three times each day. Let me ask you this: When you hear an email notification, what do you do? You stop everything, don't you? Email is a major distraction.
- Text Messages. I have a select few prospects, customers and friends that prefer communication by text messaging. It is important to find out how your audience want to be communicated with.
- Social Media. These are the four major platforms that I use: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. Still exploring Google+. Not sure where it fits yet. Here is a question that I would think about and answer: How can you utilize social media to connect with your target audience?
Make sure you connect with me on your favorite social media platforms:
I remember sitting in a Jim Rohn seminar years ago and I will never forget what he said, “If we change, the results will change for us.”
I love this quote from an unknown author, “You may hate gravity, but gravity doesn't care.”
Can you do me a favor? I would really appreciate if you would head over to iTunes and rate and review The Prospecting Minute Podcast. If you don't like the podcast be honest. I'm a big boy, trust me, I can handle it.
It will take less than 5 minutes of your time. The more ratings I receive the more people like you will hear about this podcast and get help with their sales and prospecting efforts. I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to do this.
