My three step process I take to reduce the number of cancellations:
Step 1. At the end of every meeting or phone call, I always confirm the next step and have the prospect or client write down the day and time and have them repeat it back to me.
Step 2. I send an handwritten thank you note repeating the date and time. I do not send an email confirming the appointment unless it is a webinar demo.
Step 3. I call the day before or the morning of the appointment if the appointment is in the afternoon. Let me say one more thing about this step, there are times, depending on the relationship that I have with the prospect or client, that I will send an email to confirm.
