Are you kidding me? What could I possibly learn from an ant other than they can carry 10-50 times their own weight? That's not going to happen anytime in the near future. The more I studied ants, well, come to think of it, have you ever seen a lazy one? Have you seen an ant sunbathing lately?
The book of proverbs is rich with wisdom on how to live life and become more productive. Let's take a look at what Proverbs 6:6-8 says, “Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise. Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in harvest.”
So let's take a deeper look. Do you need to have an overseer or ruler pushing you each day to get your tasks done? If so, maybe it's time for a career change. What motivates you to jump out of bed each day? If you identify what your reason is for doing what you do each day, you shouldn't need someone to prod or motivate you.
Did you also notice that ants gather all their supplies in the summer and food for harvest? That's really interesting. Let me ask you this, how many farmers do you know that don't plant in season? Would the answer be zero? How many salespeople do you know that don't plant in season? Probably many.
What principle could you learn from an ant and apply to your life today?
