Great leaders don't lead with toughness or heavy handedness. They don't push and threaten. Great leaders lead with powerful ideas. Have you clearly communicated to those around you your powerful idea and how it will impact the lives of others? What's in it for the people you are leading? In the book “Trust Agents” by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith they talked about how it's impossible to execute your ideas without others. They called it an “Army.” Jesus started with twelve disciples, didn't he? I have learned over the years you need the unique talents of others to see your ideas to completion. If it is true we need others, how often do you reinforce your powerful ideas with those who are helping you? No one will ever be as clear about your powerful idea as you are. Your message then must be clear, concise and consistent. If not, others won't get it. If they don't get it, game over! What is your powerful idea? You do have one don't you?
