Over the years I’ve enjoyed the works of Seth Godin. Let me tell you why: In addition to being an amazing marketer and bestselling author, he’s also innovative, creative and the fearless founder of The Domino Project. In it’s own words, “The Domino Project is named after the domino effect—one powerful idea spreads down the line, pushing from person to person. The Project represents a fundamental shift in the way books (and digital media based on books) have always been published…[and] get books in the hands of readers who want them.”
Seth had an idea. A crazy idea that authors can “create, write and spread ideas that matter”
which resulted in the creation of The Domino Project causing a fundamental shift in the way books are published. Books are written because they need to be written. And an audience will find them. It’s not about writing what the consumer wants, it’s about creating authentically, and with full creative and editorial control. So rather then going with the status quo and bending to the rules, Seth Godin rewrote them and created a huge success.
