When was the last time a sales person called you on the telephone, caught you in the middle of something and asked you, “How ya doin?” Do they really care? Why do they keep asking this question? I believe it's because they have never been taught how to prospect effectively. When you ask a prospect how they're doing, first of all you sound like everyone else and two, the prospect is thinking in the back of their mind, “Would you just get to the point.” Let me illustrate my point and listen to How ya doin?
