When you have the best experience when shopping in a store or on the phone you’ll be sure to go back again and you’ll also be sure to tell your friends about it. Great experiences are what it’s all about.
Have you ever gone to a store and asked for a deal because you were going to buy a number of items? Now of course, you’ll more than likely get shut down quickly if you did this in a chain store or at the grocery store, but if you did this in a smaller store, things might be different.
Think about an office supply store. If you were to buy three or four reams of paper, two boxes of files, and a box of pens, they may be willing to give you a discount because of all the items you purchased. Of course, you won’t likely get this discount if you don’t ask.
What would you do if you asked and they said ‘No'? Would you ask to speak to a manager and ask the same question? It’s possible you would get the same response. Would that make you grumpy? If it did how would you react to that answer? Would you leave without your items or would you go ahead and make the purchase?
You need to treat your customers the same way you’d want to be treated. Show your customers that you appreciate them and you care about their happiness and you want them to come back to you every time they need what you offer. Don’t be afraid to offer a discount every once in a while. When you do this and you show them you care, they’ll share your willingness to help with others and your business will grow.
First class experience is number one in the eyes of your customers. It will show how much you care, it will show the type of person you are, and in the end you’ll be the winner because people will come back time and time again. Consider how much a small discount can increase your sales in the long run. Will you really be losing money in the end? The answer is ‘No' and that’s what you need to consider.
