No is a word that is hard for so many people to say. It doesn't matter if you’re a man or a woman it can be difficult to say no to anyone you would run across in your day. Saying no doesn’t hurt anyone, so why is it so hard to say?
Let me ask you something. Have you ever called your insurance agents office at 8 am to discuss your policy only to find out they don’t open until 9 am? I imagine they told you to call back when they are open and you can talk to someone about your issue.
If they don’t open until 9 am why are they answering the phone? This is poor customer service and that’s not good for business. If you don’t help your customers until 9 am when you open, then don’t answer the phone or unlock the door. Take their time into consideration and remember, they are just as busy as you are during the day.
As business owners we know how important it is to keep our customers or clients happy. If they are not happy we won’t get our money and that’s bad for our families. We run our business so we can put food on the table and clothes on the backs of our family.
One thing you need to understand is that saying no is not a bad thing. If you are too busy to complete a project, the customer or client would rather have you say that then to take on the project and put them behind because you couldn't reach the deadline.
When you take on too much with your business you don’t have the time to keep in touch with your current customers or clients. You won’t be able to help them with their needs and you won’t be there for them when they need you the most. If you say no when you have enough on your plate you’ll have the time to attend to your current business needs.
No has never killed anyone and it didn’t cause a business to close up. No is necessary to keep your current business running smoothly. Make sure you don’t take on too much and keep your customers or clients happy. Remember, they are your business and they are the ones that will make you successful.
